33-year-old Jeremy Rogers was reportedly under the influence and driving without a license in an allegedly stolen vehicle on NC 130 Thursday morning. At about 7:00 a.m., he was eastbound and passing vehicles in a no-passing zone when he collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Tammy Reed, 38. Both drivers were hospitalized, though neither sustained life-threatening injuries. Rogers was subsequently arrested for DWI and driving with a suspended license.

It was about 5:45 p.m. when an ambulance was responding to a call for aid on North End Drive, and was hijacked by a woman with a knife when it arrived at it's destination. The woman drove away alone in the ambulance, but ended up colliding head-on with a semi-truck on Frazier Mountain Park Road. The man in the semi-truck was found dead at the scene, while the woman sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead later at the hospital. It is still unclear if the woman who hijacked the ambulance was the person who made the call for aid. Check back for updates on this developing story.

Police say a driver stole a truck from a nearby dealership minutes before the crash. The suspect ran a red light and collided head-on with the victim's vehicle. The car that was struck was occupied by an elderly woman and a passenger. The driver, identified as Linda Garrison Jones, 69, died at the scene, and the passenger Margie "Deanie" Lovell, 92, was taken to UAB for treatment where she succumbed to her injuries. The suspect was also injured in the crash and taken to UAB for treatment. Crestwood Boulevard is closed while the accident is being investigated.

A bizzarre incident left two people injured two people in Burns Township, Michigan Friday morning. At 4:30 AM Jason Cleveland was getting his coffee at the Windmill Point Party Shop. A man walked in, asking him if he was driving a pickup truck parked in the front. After responding "Yes, I am," the man pulled out a large knife, threatening Cleveland. Cleveland then threw a bottle of water at the knife-wielding man, who ran out the door, grabbing a woman in a choke-hold and taking her to her car as employees called 911.

The truck crashed after it turned into head-on traffic while trying to evade police. However, police were stunned when one of the women — who they noticed appeared to be pregnant — suddenly went into labor.
