Los Angeles, CAPregerson was found in bushes on the side of the road on the 600 block of Chautauqua Boulevard around 3:20 a.m. Police say the victim was walking home when he was hit by a car and thrown into the bushes. The driver fled the scene. Pregerson was transported to a hospital in critical condition and he later died of his injuries. Friends say the victim was a budding filmmaker and recent UCLA graduate.

San Diego, CASan Diego police were looking Friday for a hit-and-run driver who struck two women on a morning walk in University City.
The women were walking along Stresemann Street, near Governor Drive, about 6 a.m. when they passed a parked older-model red pickup, police said. Moments later, the truck struck them from behind and the driver kept going.
Paramedics took the women to two hospitals. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.
Police said the pickup might be a Toyota and may have damage to the front.

Las Vegas, NVA 15-year-old boy driving a moped was killed in a hit-and-run crash in the northeast valley Thursday night.
Alex Martinez and a 20-year-old male passenger were traveling west on Meikle Lane about 8:20 p.m. when the accident occurred. They were crossing Ringe Lane, near Nellis and Lake Mead boulevards where they were struck by an unknown vehicle, according to Las Vegas police.
Both Martinez and the passenger on the moped were thrown onto the road. The operator of the vehicle that hit them did not stop or call the police.

Chicago, ILA man was fatally struck by a van Thursday afternoon on the South Side in the Englewood neighborhood.
Jeffrey Bond, 65, was struck by a "maroon or brown van" as he stepped onto 59th Street near a bus stop about 4:40 p.m., according to a police News Affairs Officer and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene, police said.
Bond, of the 5800 block of South Carpenter Street, was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead at 5:23 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.

Los Angeles, CAA driver was arrested Thursday night for allegedly slamming into a car, sending it and four passengers plunging into a flood control channel, then driving away from the crash, authorities said.
The hit-and-run collision happened about 7:40 p.m. near Parthenia Street and Noble Avenue in North Hills, according to a watch commander with the Los Angeles Police Department Valley Traffic Division.

Wednesday, December 25, 2013Fort Lauderdale Police said they are looking for a driver responsible for critically injuring a pedestrian in a hit-and-run incident early Thursday.
The crash occurred on the 600 block of West Broward Boulevard at about 12:27 a.m. Investigators said Daniel Francis Driscoll, 53, was trying to cross the boulevard, but he was not in a crosswalk at the time, police said.
Driscoll was hit by the driver’s side view mirror and fell to the ground.
Police believe the driver left the scene driving westbound on West Broward Boulevard and was driving a 1996-2000 model four-door green Honda Civic.

New York, NYThe first hit-and-run happened in Queens at around 4:30 a.m. when Enrique Clemente-Ovando, 29, of Elmhurst, was struck and killed about a mile from his home, according to cops. The driver fled the crash in a beige Toyota Camry with Pennsylvania plates, police said. Cops said the car was traveling east on Astoria Blvd. when it struck Clemente-Ovando, who was attempting to cross the road near 31st Ave.

Houston, TXAuthorities are looking for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident early Tuesday morning.
Deputies responded to the 7000 block of FM 1960 around 3:30 a.m. after witnesses reported seeing a woman's body in the middle of the road.
As of Tuesday morning, investigators hadn't released any information regarding the woman's identity, and they said it's still not clear why she was in the middle of the road.
Detectives closed FM 1960 and diverted traffic while they conducted their investigation. All lanes of FM 1960 reopened shortly before 8 a.m.

Monday, December 23, 2013A pedestrian was killed by a hit-and-run driver in San Jose early Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The victim, a 48-year-old San Jose man, was walking west across Bascom Avenue south of Scott Street when he was hit by a car traveling north on Bascom, CHP officials said.
The driver fled after the collision, and the CHP was contacted at 12:45 a.m. when a witness spotted the victim lying motionless in the roadway.
He was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where he died of his injuries at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Washington, DCA man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was struck while crossing the street in Southeast D.C. Monday.
Crews responded to the intersection of Stanton Road and Suitland Parkway around 6 p.m. Police say a car, possibly a gold Nissan, struck a pedestrian then fled from the scene.
