Driver arrested for hit-and-run after slamming into car sending it into flood control channel in Los Angeles, California

A driver was arrested Thursday night for allegedly slamming into a car, sending it and four passengers plunging into a flood control channel, then driving away from the crash, authorities said. The hit-and-run collision happened about 7:40 p.m. near Parthenia Street and Noble Avenue in North Hills, according to a watch commander with the Los Angeles Police Department Valley Traffic Division. A car carrying two adults and two children plunged into a flood control channel. The driver of the other car fled the scene, but was tracked down using his license plate number and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, the watch commander said. One of the adults were lifted out of the channel using a ladder truck. The children complained of injuries, and one of them had a visible bruise on their face, officials said.
