An Edgewater woman was killed this morning in Volusia County when a driver crashed into the back end of her disabled vehicle, causing it to hit her.
According to Florida Highway Patrol Kathy Hayes' car was stopped on the right, westbound lane of US-92 in Deland.
Hayes who had gotten out her car, was standing in front of it when Erica Johnson, of Ormond Beach, crashed her Ford SUV into it.
Johnson was taken to Halifax Medical Center with minor injuries.
This crash is under investigation and charges are pending.
A vehicular collision on I-4 left one girl dead on Sunday.
At 5 p.m. Sunday, a four-door Nissan merged into a Jeep on I-4 westbound in Volusia County. The Jeep overturned on the highway as a result of the impact.
Brandie Howard, 17, was in the passenger seat of the Jeep and suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash, according to police. The driver, 19-year-old Kaley Terry, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Halifax Medical Center.
A 27-year-old North Dakota man is dead after he was struck while riding his motorcycle in Volusia County.
The incident happened after 6:30 p.m. Friday at State Road 40 and Creek Haven Road.
The man was traveling eastbound on S.R. 40 on his 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Troopers said 70-year-old Robert Bendlin, of Ormond Beach, was traveling westbound on S.R. 40 in his 2006 Saturn SUV and 60-year-old Lynn Temple, of Palm Coast, was traveling eastbound on S.R. 40 in her 2009 Nissan, behind the motorcyclist.
A fatal crash in Volusia County Thursday morning is under investigation by Florida Highway Patrol.
According to an FHP press release, at 3:50 a.m., John Pearce, Jr., 23, lost control of his vehicle traveling westbound on New York Avenue.
The 2008 Dodge pickup truck struck a culvert and became airborne before the front of the truck struck a tree, troopers said.
Police say that Pearce, a DeLand resident, died on scene; it is not known whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
