A 15-year-old boy was on the way to his school when he attempted to cross Taft Street at 105th Avenue, outside of a crosswalk. A pickup traveling east on Taft struck him with its front bumper, and he was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in critical condition. The accident is still under investigation.

Effie Lee Atkins was not at an intersection or a crosswalk at about 8:35 p.m. when she tried to cross Quail Roost Drive west of Southwest 115th Avenue in South Miami Heights and was hit by a minivan.

A pedestrian was killed while crossing John Young Parkway Monday night, according to police. Dale Ippolito, 51, was attempting to cross the street without utilizing a crosswalk or intersection when he was struck by a vehicle heading southbound on the interstate. Witnesses say that Ippolito walked directly in front of an SUV heading southbound on the road. Ippolito was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, and the crash is still under investigation.

Authorities have identified the woman killed in a fatal pedestrian crash on Wednesday night. According to police, the pedestrian was crossing Highway 50 near the intersection of Anderson Street at approximately 8:50 p.m. when she was struck by a newer model SUV. The woman, identified as 62-year-old Cherokee Moore of Clermont, was pronounced dead on the scene. Police said she was not walking in a crosswalk. It is unclear at this point whether speed was a factor, but the Clermont Police Department continue to investigate.

Two teenage sisters were injured after a driver struck them early Tuesday morning. A Tampa Police spokesperson says Norma Velasquez-Cabrera, 15, and Victoria Velasquez-Cabrera, 14, just left their apartment in the Meridian Pointe complex and were walking to Middleton High School. As they tried to cross East Hillsborough Avenue, they were hit by a car at 7:15 a.m. Norma is critically injured, Davis said. Their mother rushed to the hospital to be with them.

A 35-year-old man was struck crossing San Jose Boulevard near Hartley Road early Tuesday afternoon. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a man in his 30s was struck by a northbound SUV about 2:45 p.m. while crossing the six-lane road outside of a crosswalk just north of Interstate 295. The victim's condition was originally though to be life-threatening, but police later said he was in stable condition at UF Health Jacksonville and should recover.
