A car slammed into two Plantation businesses Wednesday, causing major damage.

Just before 6 p.m., a woman driving a BMW was trying to park to visit the urgent care in the Plantation Town Square Mall when someone cut her off. What transpired was an accident that could have happened to anyone, Plantation Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Joel Gordon said.

"When she attempted to stop, she appeared to have hit the gas instead of the brake. And it appears that the carpeting got stuck under or on top of the gas pedal. And the car revved and basically jumped the curb,” he said.
