A car driven by Lois Garrett, 79, was traveling south on KY 299 and stopped at the stop sign at the intersetion of KY 80 and KY 299. The driver did not see two motorcycles that were traveling east on KY 80 and started to cross the road, hitting both motorcycles. The driver of the car, and the riders of both motorcycles were taken to a local hospital. Shanna Litchfield, the rider of one of the motorcycles, was pronounced dead at the hospital. No word on the condition of the other people.

The collision occurred Sunday afternoon in Somerset at the intersection of Highway 914 and Enterprise Drive, when car driven by Opal Bryant, 81, pulled into the path of another vehicle and caused the collision. Police say Bryant was taken to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, but died about nine hours later. Two people in the other car were injured.

Kentucky State Police are investigating an accident near Lebanon, Kentucky which left one woman dead Sunday morning. Police say 62-year-old Ann Mattingly was traveling east on KY 84 when she lost control of her vehicle just before 10 a.m. They say Mattingly dropped off the shoulder, over-corrected, leaving the roadway striking a tree. Mattingly was pronounced dead on the scene. There were no other injuries reported.

Eleven students on the bus were transported to Jewish Hospital South and released after a wreck that occured at about 6:30 a.m. at Preston Highway and Belmont Road just east of Fort Knox. An 86-year-old man drove into the back of a school bus that had stop to pick up students in Bullitt County. The man later died of his injuries. None of the students suffered serious injuries.
