A crash on Sunday along U.S. 59 killed a young Splendora couple and injured their two daughters. Killed in the Sunday crash along U.S. 59 were Splendora firefighter and his wife, Shea Frazier.
It was just before 12:00 a.m. when Dontavius Marquez King was driving his SUV away from a crash with a Lincoln Town Car, and he lost control and crashed his car into a church on Norris Street, where it overturned. Despite there being three children in the vehicle, ages 1, 3, and 5, King left the scene of the crash to seek treatment for his own injuries. The children were eventually found and taken to the hospital; the 3-year-old had critical injuries but is now in stable condition, and the two other children were not seriously hurt.
DeAngelis, of Winneconne, was stopped at a train crossing when a vehicle driven by Ronnfeldt struck him from behind. His car rolled over and he was declared dead at the scene. Ronnfeldt subsequently fled and was discoverd by police hiding behind a tree, after which he failed a sobriety test.
