Oshkosh police are investigating a crash that killed 53-year-old Winneconne man who had stopped his car for a train crossing the 2500 block of Fond du Lac Road.
Winneconne man killed by suspected drunken driver in Oshkosh crash
A 53-year-old Winneconne man was killed Sunday night by a suspected drunken driver when his car was rear-ended by another vehicle while he was stopped for a train, Oshkosh police said.
Homicide charges filed in fatal drunken driving crash
The woman told police she was thinking of moving into the right lane of traffic when she saw a vehicle traveling at a "very high rate of speed" approaching in the right lane. She estimated the vehicle to be traveling 65 miles per hour.
DeAngelis, of Winneconne, was stopped at a train crossing when a vehicle driven by Ronnfeldt struck him from behind. His car rolled over and he was declared dead at the scene. Ronnfeldt subsequently fled and was discoverd by police hiding behind a tree, after which he failed a sobriety test.
