Westbound I-96 in Detroit has reopened after a hit-and-run crash involving eight vehicles this morning, according to Michigan State Police. Three people were treated by emergency workers at the scene and taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The crash happened about 5:48 a.m. at I-96 and Wyoming Street. A silver Chrysler Sebring with an unknown driver struck a four-door Pontiac sedan, forcing the Pontiac into a Ford Ranger, which overturned, police said. The Ranger was then struck by five other vehicles, including a Mini Cooper and a tractor-trailer.

One person was killed another injured Tuesday afternoon in a three-vehicle accident in Roseville. The incident occurred at 3:17 p.m. Roseville police and fire personnel responded to a call of a crash on southbound Foothills Boulevard at Chignahuapan Way. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 1995 Chrysler sedan eastbound on Chignahuapan Way was attempting to make a left turn onto northbound Foothills Boulevard, when the car crossed in front of a 1996 Ford pick-up truck southbound on Foothills.

Menomonee Falls police report one person died as a result of Sunday's pileup crash on Highway 41/45. A quick burst of heavy snow late Sunday morning created dozens of crashes and several highway closures. Police said a 63-year-old man from Franklin died as a result of the chain reaction crash that occurred around 11:15 a.m.

New Orleans police arrested a 44-year-old man Saturday evening for his alleged involvement in a multiple car pile-up that sent a 29-year-old woman and her 2-year-old nephew falling off the Interstate 10 high rise bridge in eastern New Orleans a week ago. Police booked Ervin Freeman into Central Lockup around 9 p.m. with two counts of manslaughter and one count of felony hit-and-run.

A 13-car pileup on the Gowanus Expressway in Brooklyn slowed Manhattan-bound traffic to a crawl early Wednesday, authorities said. Four people were taken to Lutheran Medical Center for minor injuries after the 4:30 a.m. crash, which left the baker's dozen of smashed cars in a jagged line near the Third Ave. exit in Sunset Park. Cops and firefighters were clearing the scene near the Third Ave. exit in Sunset Park on Wednesday. Firefighters and cops were clearing the scene.

Four people have been taken to the hospital and cars were backed up all the way to Staten Island during Wednesday morning rush hour after a multiple-car pileup on the Gowanus Expressway in Brooklyn. Traffic was at a near-standstill after the crash about 4:30 a.m. near the Third Avenue exit. Hours later, the lanes were cleared but there were residual delays. All the victims taken to the hospital suffered non-critical injuries. Inbound high-occupancy-vehicle lanes were completely closed and delays stretched over the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge.

A semi truck was hauling a long flatbed trailer westbound on Highway 285/Hampden bypass when the driver failed to stop at South Clarkson Street, possibly because of a medical condition. The semi plowed into the back of cars that were parked at the intersection, and went on to knock over a power pole. Four people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The semi-truck is from Winslow Crane Service Co., based in Englewood.
