Menomonee Falls police report one person died as a result of Sunday's pileup crash on Highway 41/45. A quick burst of heavy snow late Sunday morning created dozens of crashes and several highway closures. Police said a 63-year-old man from Franklin died as a result of the chain reaction crash that occurred around 11:15 a.m. More than 40 vehicles were involved in several chain reaction crashes between Pilgrim Road and Main Street. A quick burst of lake effect snow caused slippery travel Sunday morning, and several chain-reaction crashes were reported in Waukesha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee and Racine counties Sunday morning. Waters said one other person was severely injured in the Menomonee Falls crash, but did not have an update on the person's condition. The Menomonee Falls Police Department is investigating the series of crashes.
