Mobile, AL-Pensacola, FLIt was about 4:30 p.m. when a strong thunderstorm with high winds ravaged Mobile Bay, unfortunately at the same time the Daphin Island Regatta sailboat race was taking place. Of the 119 boats involved in the race, the storm capsized ten of them. So far three bodies have been found and confirmed dead, including: Kris Beall, 27, William Glenn Massey, 67, and Robert Delaney, 72. Four other people are still missing, and search crews continue to scan the area.

Montgomery-Selma, ALChristine Edwards, 49, her husband Dedrick Edwards, 50, and their son, Dedrick Edwards, Jr., 10, were all killed when they were driving on Interstate 65 in a Chevrolet Tahoe in foggy weather when it became involved in the pile-up with six other passenger vehicles and three 18-wheelers. Two other occupants in the Tahoe were taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Birmingham, ALIn Walker County, a Hamilton woman was killed. Troopers said 71-year-old Mable Criddle was a passenger in a vehicle that also lost control on a wet road, overturned and struck a tree.
That accident happened at 2:35 p.m. on Alabama 5, one mile north of Jasper. Criddle was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, troopers said
