Three people were injured in a violent two-car accident on Route 422 in North Lebanon Township Thursday evening at the start of the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
Rescue crews were sent at 6:30 p.m. to Prescott Drive and East Cumberland Street, also known as Route 422.
The crash closed Route 422 between Prescott Drive and Narrows Drive for several hours. The Lebanon County accident reconstruction team was summoned to the scene to assist in the investigation of the crash.
A 51-year-old man was killed in a crash Sunday on Old Lebanon Road.
According to police, David Hawkins was killed in the crash. He was attempting to turn when his truck skidded off the road through a resident's yard before striking a tree.
Hawkins was not wearing a seat belt, according to the police report. Police said the seat belt could have made a difference.

The Lebanon Police Department says 47-year-old Harold Dee Jones was killed when he rear-ended a Freightliner truck cab around 9:30 p.m.
According to officials, Jones was unable to stop his pickup truck in time to avoid hitting the truck cab, which was stopped at the traffic signal at North Hartman Drive.
Police say they don't believe Jones was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Police have identified the suspect and victim involved in a hit-and-run accident in Lebanon early Saturday morning.
Darwin Almonte, 26, of Lebanon was rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a driver who fled in the 900 block of North 7th Street at about 2:16 a.m. on Saturday, police said.
At 11:13 p.m. the same day, 21-year-old Chelsea Grischott of Lebanon called police, saying she had been involved in an accident on North 7th Street earlier on Saturday, according to police.
NICKELSVILLE — A Southwest Virginia woman was killed Friday morning in a single-vehicle accident in Scott County.
Virginia State Police identified the victim as Rachel Dawn Boger, 31, of Lebanon. Boger was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The wreck reportedly occurred at 5:15 a.m. on Route 71 near the entrance to Keith Memorial Park in Nickelsville.
Boger was not wearing a seatbelt when the wreck occurred.
