Greenville County Coroner Parks Evans says a Pelzer woman died in a fiery crash Tuesday night.
The crash happened at 6 p.m. on Old Pelzer Road in Piedmont, according to Evans.
The coroner said 22 year old Hayley Gunter was a passenger in a car that lost control, left the road, and overturned in a field. The car then caught on fire.
Evans said Gunter was not wearing a seat belt, and was thrown from the car. She was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
An autopsy is planned for Wednesday.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal wreck in Anderson County.
Troopers say the accident happened just after 11 p.m. Sunday on Good Hope Church Road about 2.4 miles south of Starr.
According to the Highway Patrol, a 2003 Dodge pickup truck was driving west on Good Hope Church Road, when it went off the left side of the road and overturned.
The driver of the vehicle, Michael Morrill, 22, as well as a passenger were transported to AnMed.
The passenger, later identified as Julio Sandovall, 22, died at the hospital.
The Greenville County coroner said a man was killed in a motorcycle crash Sunday on Geer Highway.
The coroner said Norman Andrew Lecroy, 35, lost control of the motorcycle while trying to stop. He was ejected from the vehicle, traveled across the roadway and hit by a truck before coming to a rest.
Officials pronounced Lecroy dead on the scene. He had been wearing a helmet.
Authorities with the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Greenville County Coroner’s Office are investigating the crash.
A tanker truck and Toyota Camry crashed on a two-lane highway just outside of Carthage around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, seriously injuring the drivers of both vehicles.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol said the Toyota Camry's driver was northbound on U.S. Highway 15/501 near Irene Lane when she sideswiped a dump truck headed south.
The driver, later identified as Chelsea Bosworth, 22, then swerved back into the northbound lane but overcorrected, crossed the center line and hit the 18-wheeler, which flipped over into a ditch.
Jeffersonville police said a man entered the bank at 2917 East 10th Street shortly before 3 p.m. and told the teller he was armed. He then fled the scene. Officer Robbie Grinestaff was on the way to respond to the robbery and was driving east on 10th Street in a 2007 marked city police cruiser with the emergency lights and siren activated about 3 p.m.
A 58-year-old man was killed Monday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash in Cherokee County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers said one vehicle was headed south on Highway 11 when in it collided with a northbound vehicle driven by George Edward Gann, 60, of Chesnee.
The driver of the southbound vehicle, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and died at the scene, according to SCHP.
Gann was transported by ambulance to Spartanburg Regional Hospital. His condition has not yet been released.
A man was severely injured following a motorcycle accident in Spartanburg County late Sunday afternoon.
The accident happened at 3:35 pm on Cross Anchor Highway, near Watson Road. According to Billy Elder with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 59-year old man was riding his 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle east on Cross Anchor Highway when he lost control of the motorcycle, went off the right side of the road and was ejected from the motorcycle, which ended up in a ditch.
The Anderson County Coroner says one man has died after his car crashed into a tree on Fire Tower Road near Highway 8 around 5:30 Saturday morning.
James Arthur Gravley, 42, of Piedmont, died in the crash.
Investigators said Gravley was traveling at a high rate of speed and was thrown from the vehicle on impact. Gravley was not wearing a seat belt, the coroner said.
The wreck happened less than a half-mile from Gravley's home, investigators said.
Gravley was a former South Carolina National Guardsman who served in Afghanistan with military police.
