The 83-year-old rabbi who died Thursday after a truck backed over him had been walking home from doing what he loved most: studying the religion that he passed on to his eight children, family members said.

Yehuda Cohen, who moved to Cleveland Heights from Detroit in 1977, died Thursday while walking home from the Hebrew Academy, where he studied the Bible twice daily, his son, Mair Cohen said.

COSHOCTON COUNTY, Ohio - A woman was killed and a man was injured in a motorcycle crash in Coshocton County Monday afternoon.

The crash occurred on northbound state Route 93 at about 2:24 p.m. Monday.

According to the Coshocton County Sheriff's Office, 47-year-old Brad Yoder, and 37-year-old April Yoder, were northbound on S.R. 93 on a motorcycle.

Officials said Brad lost control of the motorcycle on the roadway.

Brad was transported by MedFlight to Akron General Hospital in an unknown condition.

April was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman who died after a car careened off a cliff at Edgewater Park Sunday has been identified.

Edith Pandur, 88, of Medina, died at the Perkins Beach area about 1:30 p.m. Sunday, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner said.

The car Pandur and her daughter were in plummeted over the edge of a cliff in the park's western end, landing upside down on boulders about 30 feet below. The car never hit the water, Cleveland fire department assistant chief Brent Collins said.

A man and woman were killed overnight in a Perry Township motorcycle crash. The double fatal accident happened around 12:29 a.m. on Sherman Church Avenue near Whipple Avenue. Jeffrey M. Martin, 35, of Canton, Ohio lost control of his 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle, went off the left side of the roadway and struck a guardrail, according to the Canton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Troopers said Martin and his rear passenger, Julie C. Zona, 37, were then ejected from the bike. The two died at the scene.

Three Ashland University students and one adult remain hospitalized two days after a fatal two-car accident in Lorain County, hospital officials confirmed. Paige Gorsuch, of Wauseon, Ohio, has been upgraded to fair condition and Madalyn Humphrey, of Elkins, West Va., and Rosalie Sepesy, of Austintown, remain in serious condition, a MetroHealth Medical Center spokeswoman said. A fourth student, Andrew Keim, of Millersburg, died Saturday at the hospital.

An early morning crash on I-77 southbound caused by a wrong-way driver claimed a life and closed a large section of the Interstate for hours Wednesday. Police said a driver entered the freeway, possibly from Fleet Avenue, going the wrong way and collided with another vehicle. Jack W. Dixon, age 48 and of Eastlake was driving the car that was struck and was pronounced dead on the scene, Cleveland Police said.

Bay Village police have confirmed they are investigating a fatal head-on crash that occurred Sunday afternoon on Lake Road, near the Cuyahoga and Lorain county line.

John B. Eischen, 77, of North Olmsted, died at the scene. Two occupants in the other car were taken to the hospital for injuries.

Lake Road was closed for a short time to clear the scene, but area is now clear and back open.

The crash remains under investigation.

A 27-year-old woman died and four people were injured after the car they were traveling in crashed into Family Dollar on Broadway Avenue late Saturday, according to police.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has not released the woman's identity. After the crash she was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where she died, police said.

The driver, a 34-year-old Warrensville Heights man, will be arrested and charged with aggravated vehicular assault after being released from MetroHealth Medical Center, police said.

A Port Clinton man died early Sunday morning from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle crash Saturday night. According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, Leon McCoy Jr., 22, died from his injuries at Cleveland Metro Hospital. The Sandusky post of the Ohio Highway Patrol is investigating the crash that occurred at about 11:26 p.m. Saturday in Margaretta Township, Erie County, on Wahl Road near Brunner Road. McCoy was transported to Firelands Hospital by Margaretta EMS after the crash and later flown by Metro LifeFlight to Cleveland Metro Hospital.

A Cleveland driver suspected of crashing into a pedestrian and then fleeing the scene Monday morning was arrested hours later for driving intoxicated, police said. Travis Clay, 49, was taken into custody about 5 p.m. after being stopped near East 71st Street and Fullerton Avenue. Officials said he was driving a red Nissan Altima that matched the description given to police after a 54-year-old woman was struck about 11:30 a.m. near Broadway and Worley avenues -- a half mile from where Clay would eventually be placed in handcuffs.
