Norfolk Southern investigators are looking into the cause of a train derailment that occurred in Chillicothe early Tuesday morning.

According to Chillicothe police, 20 cars went off the tracks between East 4th Street and East 7th Street at approximately 1 a.m. Tuesday.

There were no injuries reported, but the stretch of tracks is damaged, according to investigators.

The cars, which were carrying coal, did not tip over.

Interstate 71 northbound has reopened on the city's north side after a fatal crash Saturday morning. According to Columbus police, officers responded to the area of I-71 near the Gemini Place exit on a report of a crash at about 6:14 a.m. Saturday. Police said 29-year-old Stephen Albenze, of Elyria, was operating a 2008 Ford Mustang, while 69-year-old David Eisnaugle, of Newark, was operating a semi, both traveling northbound on I-71, when the semi collided with the vehicle before traveling off the side of the roadway. After the collision, the semi struck a guardrail and a sound barrier.

Troopers are investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred in Marion County where two people were killed and two others were injured. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers with the Marion post responded to the area of state Route 203 and Keener Road, at about 1:32 a.m. Sunday, on a report of a motor-vehicle crash.

A woman is dead and a man transported to the hospital after a crash in Delaware County. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers responded to Interstate 71, near mile marker 134 in Delaware County, at about 7:45 p.m. Friday, on the report of a crash. Troopers say when they arrived on scene, they found a semi-truck overturned in a ditch next to the highway. A woman, 41-year-old Thuy Lu and a man, 39-year-old Hoang Troung, both of Garden Grove California, were found at the scene of the crash by emergency crews.

A State Highway Patrol trooper and a driver she was helping after an accident were struck Tuesday when another vehicle lost control on an icy Ohio highway and pushed a cable barrier into them and their vehicles.

The crash happened shortly after midnight along Interstate 70 near Springfield, about 45 miles west of Columbus, as the trooper assisted a 56-year-old Huber Heights woman who had lost control of her vehicle earlier and ended up in the median, the patrol said.

Deputies responded to Hague Avenue at Fisher Road in Franklin Township at about 8:27 a.m. Wednesday on a report of a crash.

A Beverly man was killed in a single-vehicle crash along Ohio 60 in Morgan County Sunday morning. Gary E. Combs, 66, was driving north on Ohio 60 in Center Township when the accident occurred around 9:05 a.m., according to a report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Marietta Post. Police said Combs' vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. No alcohol or drugs are suspected in the crash and Combs was wearing a seatbelt. The accident remains under investigation by OSHP.

The northbound lanes of Interstate 71 have reopened at Interstate 670 after a crash involving a wrong-way driver Friday morning. According to Columbus police, officers replied to a report of a vehicle traveling the wrong way on Interstate 71 northbound from Polaris Parkway at about 1 a.m. Friday. The caller, who was on the correct side of the freeway, paralleled the wrong-way vehicle and remained in contact with the 911 operator while police cruisers were dispatched to the area. The wrong-way driver continued for about seven miles until reaching Cooke Road.

Troopers from the Marion post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Richland Township early Thursday morning.

Troopers responded to Newmans Cardington Road, east of Claridon Westfield Road, at about 6:22 a.m. on a report of a single-vehicle crash.

According to the report, a 2011 Cadillac CTS two-door driven by 50-year-old Charles E. Orewiler, of Marion, was traveling eastbound on Newmans Cardington Road when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, striking a tree. The vehicle rolled and Orewiler was ejected.

All lanes of U.S. Route 62 have reopened following a crash involving multiple vehicles early Thursday morning.

Deputies from the Pickaway County Sheriff's Office responded to U.S. 62 between Mt. Sterling and Harrisburg at about 5:15 a.m.

According to the sheriff's office, the crash involved two semis, a passenger vehicle, and a pickup truck. One of the semis rear-ended the other semi causing it to hit the pickup truck. A passenger vehicle moving the opposite direction struck all of the debris.
