A car crash Saturday morning kills one teenager, who is believed to have been drinking and not wearing a seatbelt.

It happened just after 6:00 a.m. on Highway 50 near East Enterprise Drive in Pueblo West.

19-year-old John Sebastian Ceplo, of Pueblo West was heading west on Highway 50 when his GMC started drifting off the road.

According to Colorado State Patrol Ceplo over-corrected, causing his SUV to roll multiple times off the opposide side of the road before colliding with a fence.

Ceplo was partially ejected from his vehicle.

Colorado Springs police have arrested a man who tried to escape through a fire station following a car accident.

Officers caught up with the suspect and arrested him. He is identified as John Krulik and he is facing charges of motor vehicle theft and criminal trespass.

Authorities say an officer was trying to stop a speeding Subaru on Thursday when the driver crashed.

Five people were injured in a car crash that happened south of Colorado Springs near Fountain.

A Colorado State Patrol cruiser was among the cars involved but the state trooper was not hurt.

State Troopers warned drivers about the icy conditions and asked them to drive slowly.

A woman died and a man could face vehicular homicide charges after a late Tuesday crash in northeast Colorado Springs that closed Austin Bluffs Parkway for several hours, according to Colorado Springs police.

Nicholas Alvarado, 20, was identified by police as the driver of a teal Acura that was westbound on Austin Bluffs Parkway about 11:30 p.m. at a high rate of speed. Alvarado lost control trying to turn right and ran off the right side of the road, striking the curb, police said. The vehicle then rolled onto its left side, ejecting a female passenger who was in the back seat.

A state snow plow was involved in a fatal traffic collision Tuesday near Cripple Creek. The crash involving the snow plow and another vehicle happened on Colorado 67, said a Colorado Department of Transportation spokeswoman. The person who died in the incident is not the snow plow driver, but was in the other vehicle, Ford said. The Colorado State Patrol is on scene investigating. The crash happened at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday about 12 miles south of Divide, state patrol Capt. Charles Cargin told the Gazette.

Three people were killed in a helicopter crash Monday afternoon. According to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, the three people were killed in the helicopter crash just south of the town of Silt. The crew in the helicopter was inspecting power lines and got entangled south of Interstate 70 along Country Road 331. The power lines were on a ridge spanning a ravine.

A construction worker is dead after a fire escape he was standing on broke loose and crashed to the ground. Colorado Springs authorities say the worker fell 15 to 20 feet on Wednesday. He died before he could be taken to the hospital. Authorities say the man was working on a roofing project. The victim’s name has not been released.

Travelers headed east on Interstate 70 faced long delays Thursday morning after a tractor trailer caught fire near the Twin Tunnels.

CDOT reported the crash around 9:30 a.m. By 1:45 p.m. the highway was reopened.

A tractor trailer carrying crushed cars rolled onto its side and caught fire, said Idaho Springs Police Chief Dave Wohlers.
I-70 was closed at Idaho Springs and drivers were detoured onto Highway 9 to U.S. 285 for several hours.

Travelers should be prepared for “extremely long delays.”

Two children are in the hospital after taking the family SUV on a joyride and crashing.

The driver was just 10 years old and his sister, 8, was also in the vehicle early Monday morning in Colorado Springs on Union Boulevard near Memorial Park. They only got about three miles before they crashed and rolled the Dodge Durango.

The boy stole the car keys earlier in the day and took the car on a joyride around 1:30 a.m., hours after their mother put them to bed.

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding a driver who was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash near Colorado Springs. The Colorado State Patrol says three people were involved in a rollover crash near mile marker 38 on state Highway 115 at about 2:45 a.m. Sunday. They were trying to flag down vehicles for help when one of them was struck and killed. The victim has been identified as 33-year-old Ian G. Saj, of Brush.
