Highway 40

It was about 6:30pm when a van carrying Marshall P. Jack and many other male passengers was speeding and being pursued by a Bureau of Indian Affairs officer. The van eventually lost control and drove off of Highway 40, where it crashed and landed on its side.

A 16-year-old Whitefish girl died when the car she was driving pulled into the path of a logging truck at about 4:30 p.m. Monday at an intersection on Highway 40 southeast of Whitefish, Montana. The driver of the truck, a 64-year-old man, was not injured in the crash.
