Off-duty police officer among 2 killed in 4-vehicle wreck in Cullman Co.

An off-duty Oakman Police Officer was among two people killed in a four-vehicle collision on Alabama 69 Thursday evening. ALEA State Troopers identified the deceased as Officer Jack Alson Cooley, 61, of Parrish and Frank Simonton Roberts, 23, of Bremen. Cooley was pronounced dead at the scene and Roberts was airlifted to Huntsville Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Troopers say the wreck occurred two miles south of Dodge City at 5:50 p.m. Roberts was driving a 2000 4Runner when he collided with the 2007 Nissan Altima that Cooley was driving.
