Motorcyclist killed in southwest Birmingham crash

A motorcyclist was killed Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Birmingham. The crash happened at 10:20 a.m. at Beech Avenue and 32nd Street S.W., according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office. Luther Young, 54, was driving a Kawasaki motorcycle westbound when he struck a northbound Nissan Maxima, said Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates. Young was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:55 a.m.
