Teen sisters killed in after-school crash
Britany Steadham, 17, was driving when the car went off the road and struck a tree on River Road in Heflin. According to the Cleburne County coroner, she died at the scene.
The coroner reported that Britany's 15-year-old sister, Haley Steadham, was airlifted to a hospital in Atlanta, where she died about 11 p.m. Friday.

Cleburne County Schools left the following statement on the district’s Facebook page: “It is with heavy hearts we are asking for prayers again. CCHS lost two precious students — sisters (Haley and Britany Nicole Steadham) in a tragic car accident Friday. Please pray for their family, friends, CCHS students, and faculty. An account to help with the funeral and medical expenses will be at Metro bank in Heflin.”
