Authorities on scene of Amtrak accident

Authorities are on the scene of an accident involving an Amtrak train in St. Clair County. ​ The accident happened at the intersection of Highway 78 at Trails End Lane, where neighbors say a vehicle was hit by the train.   No official word yet on any injuries.

She was killed when the 1999 Ford F150 she was driving was struck by an Amtrak train. The preliminary investigaiton indicates that the driver drove around the railroad crossing arms prior to being struck by the train, and was pronnounced dead at the scene.

Investigators have identified a woman who was killed when her pickup truck collided with an Amtrak train. Authorities have said the truck was struck by an Amtrak train and that no one on board the train was injured. Amtrak operates the Crescent through Alabama and Georgia as it travels between New Orleans and New York City. Alabama State Trooper's spokesman Chuck Daniel tells Al.com that 30-year-old Andelez Guadalupe Dasquez-Lugo drove her truck around railroad crossing arms.

And, in my opinion, it could have all been prevented if Moody police would have come down here and just watched what was going on.   and they failed to do their jobs.  I feel they failed this community to do their job," Evans said.
