Athens man killed in Sunday crash near Ardmore

An Athens man was killed Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash about two miles south of Ardmore.  Thomas Siniard, 64, was a passenger in a 2013 Dodge Charger traveling on Alabama 251 just after 9 a.m. when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned. Alabama Trooper Curtis Summerville said that Siniard, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.

Two killed in weekend crashes

Sunday evening, Thomas Siniard, 64, of Athens, was killed when the 2013 Dodge he was riding in crashed two miles south of Ardmore on Alabama 251, state troopers said. Siniard was a passenger in that crash, which happened at 9:51 p.m. The driver, Walter Bowden, was not injured.

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.

  The driver of the Dodge Charger, 37-year-old Walter Lee Bowden of Athens, was not injured in the crash.
