Authorities release more information on fatal fire at Madison apartment
Firefighters were dispatched to Waverly Place at Madison just after 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Madison Fire Chief Ralph Cobb said the unresponsive victim was found in the living room. He was rushed to Huntsville Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Madison Police Department and county coroner's office identified him as 44-year-old Timothy Melvin.

Firefighters responded to the report of a blaze at the Waverly Apartments on Madison Pike at around 12:45 a.m., WHNT reported. Smoke could be seen billowing from one the apartments.
