One dead and one injured in River Road accident; traffic blocked

Emergency crews were on the scene of a fatal one-vehicle wreck that occurred around 12:42 p.m. today on River Road.

Tuscumbia teen killed in rollover crash

Alabama State Troopers report that a 16-year-old from Tuscumbia was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Colbert County Road 40 on Tuesday. Troopers say at about 1 p.m., the 2003 Ford pickup truck left the road just east of Ford Road, one mile east of Muscle Shoals. The investigation into the crash is still ongoing. The truck overturned and struck a utility pole. The driver, 16-year-old Evan Michael Isbell, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Muscle Shoals student dies in accident

According to family friends, a passenger in Isbell's truck, Austin Jones, was injured and flown to Huntsville Hospital. Hospital officials said Jones is still being evaluated in the emergency department.

Muscle Shoals High School has a guidance counselor who works during the summer, so students are able to speak with her if they need grief support. His memorial service follows at 1 p.m. State Troopers say 16-year-old Isbell was driving a Ford pickup on River Road when it left the road, overturned and struck a utility pole.He died at the scene. Visitation for Evan Isbell is Friday at 10 a.m. at Launch Point Church in Tuscumbia.

There was a fatal accident on River Road in between Ford Road and Wilson Lake Shores in Colbert County on Tuesday afternoon.

Additionally, the Junior Class president is organizing a time of prayer for the family of their fallen classmate. The prayer service will begin at 4:00 on Wednesday, June 24 in the Muscle Shoals High School auditorium. Grief counselors and youth ministers will be on site to provide any support that is needed.
