Perkins said one person inside the studio was killed after being struck by the vehicle. The victim's identity has not yet been released. The school's cofounder, Mary Lou Sheffield Noletto, said she was not a student but a grandparent there to watch the dance practice.

In a posting on its Facebook page the statement reads in part: "We are saddened to report that Melanie Petithory, lifelong member of All Saints, was killed in a tragic accident at the Sheffield Dance Studio....Please keep her family in your prayers."
