Montgomery man dies at UAB 10 days after wreck
A Montgomery man has died 10 days after he sustained injuries in a 2-vehicle crash near the intersection of Day Street and Birmingham Highway. Montgomery police say 41-year-old Michael Albert passed away Thursday at UAB Hospital in Birmingham where he was receiving treatment.

Police say a Jeep Wrangler driven by Albert eastbound on Birmingham Highway crossed over the double yellow line and struck a Ford Escape. The Ford was traveling westbound on Day Street approaching Birmingham Highway at around 7:50 p.m. on March 24 when the crash occurred.
Michael Albert was traveling wastbound on Day Street when the Jeep he was driving crossed over the double-yellow line and struck an oncoming Ford. Albert and a passenger in his Jeep were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Ford was treated at the scene for minor injuries. Albert passed away 10 days after the accident at UAB Hospital in Birmingham where he was receiving treatment. The incident is still under investigation.
