The initial investigation shows a 2006 GMC Sierra was traveling eastbound on the East South Boulevard when it struck Wright, who had stepped into the right lane of traffic. Authorities say the driver of the GMC was not injured.

Around 7:40 p.m., Kennedy Wright entered traffic on East South Boulevard when he was struck by GMC Sierra and sustained life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died. The driver was uninjured. Police continue to investigate this incident.
