Troy football player dies in weekend wreck(link is external)

TROY, Ala. (AP) - A weekend wreck claimed the life of a Troy University football player and injured three others. The school's athletic department says offensive lineman Corey McCullers died Saturday afternoon in a wreck in Troy. State troopers say McCullers was driving a car that collided with another automobile on U.S. 231 before striking a parked travel trailer. Funeral plans have been finalized for a Troy University football player who was killed Saturday in a two-vehicle wreck on U.S. Highway 231 in Pike County.  In addition to nine pallbearers, honorary positions are being named for the Troy Trojan football team as well as Holtville H.S. football and soccer teams and coaches. McCullers was a walk-on at Troy and was a redshirt freshman after serving on the scout team during the 2014 season.
