The driver of the car, a Chevy Cavalier, was a 51-year-old man from San Tan Valley driving eastbound on Hunt Highway about 45 miles per hour.

Tavita was reportedly walking west in the eastbound lanes of Hunt Highway with his brother when he was struck by an eastbound car driven by a 51-year-old man. The collision severely injured Tavita, and he was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital.
