Eight female inmates from the Arizona State Prison Complex-Perryville were involved in a wreck Tuesday morning near Goodyear when another car rear-ended the van they were riding in, according to police.
None of prisoners were injured during the wreck and the person who rear-ended the van received some minor injuries, said a Goodyear police spokeswoman.
The prisoners were on their way to a work site near Goodyear on Tuesday morning when a four-door Nissan rear ended the group in the 900 block of South Estrella Parkway, near Estrella Foothills High School.
All the inmates were inside the van when the wreck occurred, police said.
Following the wreck, the prisoners were put on another van and taken back to the state prison complex west of Phoenix, said a Corrections Department spokesman.
