James Pedroza, Anand Patel, Mariah Coogan, Helena Lagos, Iris Rodriguez, and Erik Valente killed in small plane crash at TPC Scottsdale Champions Course in Scottsdale, Arizona

The plane departed from Scottsdale Airport and crashed shortly at the TPC Scottsdale Champions Course, located just north of the airport, according to Scottsdale Police Department.

A video of the six people inside the plane was posted on Instagram moments before the plane took off from the Scottsdale Airport Monday night and crashed.

26-year-old Anand “Happy” Patel was known for the unique way he promoted area concerts and clubs.

Her daughter, Helena Lagos, and five others were on the plane that crashed shortly after takeoff  Monday night. The plane was headed to the North Las Vegas Airport from Scottsdale, Arizona.

The Scottsdale Police Department identified those killed as Erik Valente, 32; James Louis Pedroza, 28; Mariah Sunshine Coogan, 23; Anand Kamlesh Patel, 28; Helena Lagos, 22; and Iris Carolina Rodriguez Garcia, 23.

The video, provided by Scottsdale Police, mimicked an NTSB report released this month describing how the airplane "wings became nearly vertical, and the view of the airplane was lost behind a berm."

A National Transportation Safety Board preliminary accident report does not list a cause of the crash but states that runway surveillance video captured the airplane’s wings “rocking during and shortly after rotation.”

Anand Anil Patel, a 26-year-old Oklahoma concert and club promoter, was one of six people killed in the April 2018 crash near Phoenix.
