Troopers: Louisiana woman, 10-year-old girl die in Arkansas crash

Christy Scott of Hammond, La. was driving a 2015 Toyota north on U.S. 65 in Clinton, around 5:40 p.m., according to a state police preliminary report. A 2016 Chevrolet, driving south, crossed the centerline and struck Scott's car on the left side, the report states.

Nurse, daughter die in Arkansas wreck

Stunned by the loss, Hammond's Villa West community and many other local friends and relatives of Christy Scott, 42, are mourning her death and the death of her 10-year-old daughter, Hailey.

Hailey Scott was an amazing person. Every room she walked into she lit up. I was in her 2nd grade class, and she always made everyone happy.
