Chris Carney, 35, and Ezekiel Blanton, 37, killed in single-vehicle crash on U.S. 70 east of Hot Springs, Arkansas

Two people, including the son of Hot Springs Mayor Ruth Carney, died in a single-vehicle crash early Friday, according to Arkansas State Police. State police spokesman Bill Sadler said the vehicle was traveling westbound on U.S. 70 East about 1:40 a.m. at the time of the crash. He declined to provide any further information Friday morning regarding the nature of the crash. Christopher Carney, 35, of Hot Springs was identified as a passenger in the vehicle, while Ezekiel Blanton, 37, of Hot Springs was listed as the vehicle's driver. Christopher Carney and Blanton were pronounced dead at the scene about 6 miles east of Hot Springs, Sadler said.
