According to CHP, the 1-year-old was rushed to Antelope Valley Hospital, where she died. The driver, a 37-year-old woman, and three other passengers -- two 8-year-old boys and a 14-year-old boy -- remain hospitalized with major injuries, police said.

The crash on the northbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway near Acton west of Palmdale was reported about 6:20 a.m. at Red Rover Mine Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. Paramedics and two air ambulances were sent to the scene.
