Witnesses at the scene reported conflicting information to the CHP. One caller said a big rig hit the motorcyclist and another said the victim was hit by a white Tesla.

Matthew Hathaway, a 30 year-old resident of La Verne, was eastbound on a 2019 Suzuki GSXR 750 on the 210 Freeway approaching the Tesla Model Y vehicle, whose driver had slowed to a near stop due to traffic ahead.
