A man killed when his vehicle was struck by a freight train Tuesday night on the outskirts of Davis has been identified by the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office-Coroner. The chief deputy coroner identified the man as Ernesto Arango, 54, of Davis.
A man inside a vehicle was killed by a train east of Davis late Tuesday night near County Roads 105 and 32A. A Union Pacific locomotive crashed into an occupied car on the tracks around 11:50 a.m. Initial investigation suggests that the driver had gone around the crossing gate while the crossing arms were down. The man inside the car died from his injuries.
