The car, a 2012 Ford, was heading eastbound on the westbound side of the 210 through Fontana when it crashed into a 2001 Lexus with two adults and three children inside around 6:30 a.m., according to the CHP.

Both drivers, including the 43-year-old Highland man driving the Lexus, were killed in the incident, as well as a 16-year-old female in the Lexus.

Angelica Plasencia, the matriarch of the family, said her daughter, 16-year-old Mia, her husband Jose, and three-year-old son Ivan Plasencia were killed. Angelica is recovering after multiple surgeries, along with her five-year-old daughter who suffered a broken leg.
