The woman had been driving eastbound on Cannon about 3:45 a.m. when she veered out of the left lane and hit the center divider east of Hemmingway Drive. The impact threw her off the scooter and her left arm hit the metal pole of a traffic sign with such force that her arm was severed, Koran said.
