One man killed, after his truck crossed the median on College Boulevard in Oceanside and crashed into a tree, ejecting him from the vehicle.

A driver died early Friday in Oceanside when he was ejected from his truck after it slammed into a tree.

The man was heading south on College Boulevard just north of Avenida de la Plata about 12:15 a.m. when for unknown reasons the truck crossed the center median, Oceanside police said.

The 2013 Toyota Tacoma then slammed into a eucalyptus tree. The driver was thrown from the vehicle, which rolled over and ended up in the northbound lanes, police said.

The man died at the scene. His name has not been released.
