56-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash on Sunrise Highway near Pine Valley, California

The rider was headed south about 1:30 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway, about 1.5 miles north of Old Highway 80, CHP Officer Jared Grieshaber said. The man's motorcycle crashed into a guardrail along the west edge of the roadway, throwing him about 100 feet down an embankment.
