Pedestrian struck and killed by a car while crossing state Route 67 in Ramona, California

Officers responded to the southbound side of state Route 67 near 14th Street around 6:15 a.m. after receiving a report of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian, Officer Jared Grieshaber said in a news release. Investigators learned the man had been crossing the street despite the “Don’t Walk” illuminated sign at the crosswalk, Grieshaber said. A 23-year-old woman driving south on the road then crashed into him.
