Car crashes into City Heights apartment building; driver says vehicle lost power.

A family escaped injury Wednesday night, when a car slammed into their City Heights apartment building.

A family escaped injury Tuesday night, when a car slammed into their City Heights apartment building.

The San Diego Police Department said the wreck occurred at 10:15 p.m. at a two-story complex at Menlo Avenue and Olive Street.

The driver stated that his Honda Accord lost power, which resulted in a brake and steering failure.

The man's family was also in the car as it coasted down Olive Street and through Menlo Avenue before crashing into the building.

The crash put a large hole in the bedroom wall of one unit, pushing a bed and a sleeping mother several feet from the inside wall.

The occupants of the car were not hurt.
