Eugene Carle, 66, dies after being ejected from pickup during rollover on Highway 24 on Wilkerson Pass, Colorado

Eugene Carle of  Hartsel was killed after being ejected from his vehicle in a rollover accident on Wilkerson Pass Wednesday around 9:45 a.m. According to the Colorado State Patrol, the accident occurred on Highway 24 near mile marker 252. Carle's 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup was eastbound when it went off the left side of the road and slid sideways down an embankment. It rolled over, and Carle was ejected. He was not wearing a seat belt, and he died at the scene. Ice and slushy conditions contributed to the crash.
