Two people and one dog killed when small plane crashes through power lines near South Peoria Street and Ridgegate Parkway in Douglas County, Colorado
The plane, a single turboprop Lancair Evolution, which was inbound to Centennial Airport, hit a power line causing the crash and the fire, said Kim Spuhler, a SMFR public information officer.
While the crash itself did not cause the power to go out, Xcel said crews must cut the energy to the line at 10 p.m. so emergency crews and crash investigators can do their work.
A plane crash in Lone Tree has started a small brush fire. South Metro Fire Rescue confirms it is working with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office to access the area and contain the fire.
