Gary Cutler with Colorado State Patrol says the accident happened 10 minutes after midnight when a car went under the trailer portion of the semi. The top of the car was taken off and all four people inside lost their lives.

Thomas Thoth and Christina Daskas-Thoth, both 48, along with two girls ages 11 and 8 – all from Michigan – died after their Chrysler Pacifica hit a jackknifed semi head on[1] just after midnight about five miles east of Sterling on I-76, according to a Colorado State Patrol spokesperson.
