Driver trapped inside car after striking light pole on Hillside Street in East Hartford, Connecticut

A driver crashed into a light pole on Hillside Street and became trapped in the vehicle when wires were knocked down in the force of the accident. Firfighters rescued the driver and workers cleared the car from the scene, but the collision caused a major power outage that took several hours to fix. Hillside Street was closed while work was being done, and power has since been restored. The driver's condition is unknown.
