Watertown man killed in motorcycle accident

Coffey then crashed into multiple wooden posts that are attached to the wire rope guardrail, and was thrown from his motorcycle.
Connecticut State Police are investigating a deadly motorcycle accident in Litchfield. It happened late Sunday afternoon along Route 254. Police say Jay Coffey, 50, of Watertown was riding south on Route 254 when, it looks like, he lost control near Jefferson Hill Road. Coffey then crashed into multiple wooden posts that are attached to the wire rope guardrail, and was thrown from his motorcycle. Coffey was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at Waterbury Hospital.
