The road was closed for around three hours, but has reopened. Police have not released the name of either person involved.
Pedestrian hit along Berlin Turnpike
The pedestrian, who police say is a male, was hit by a car around midnight in the northbound lane of the Berlin Turnpike not far from Griswoldville Avenue. Police aren’t saying if the man was walking across the street or walking alongside it when he was hit by the car. The driver of the car has not been charged and is said to be cooperating with police.
A pedestrian sustains serious injuries after being hit by a car on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington Tuesday evening. The accident occured on October 21 around 11:00 p.m. near Hoffman's Gun Center. The pedestrian sustained injuries to the head and legs. The driver is cooperating with police. The identities of those involved have not been released.
