The Hartford Courant reports the crash happened just before 5 p.m. Saturday near the Rocky Hill and Cromwell town line.

Police dispatchers said the accident was on Cromwell Avenue. Lifestar dispatchers said they were initially called to the scene but then canceled.

Lanza died as a result of his injuries at Hartford Hospital. A second victim, 50-year-old Ronald A. McNeill Jr., was in serious condition. He's since been upgraded to stable. The driver of the car, 59-year-old Pamela R. Hebb, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
